When scanning, the scanner is very quiet you can hear it, but it isn't excessively loud. It's simple to scan a specific area of an image. The only film that has remained 100% stable over the years is Kodachrome slides, which I wish I had chosen more often as the film of choice over the years, but I tended to choose print film so I could share these treasured images with my friends at the time. While I kept them in a climate-controlled environment and used proper image preservation techniques, many of the color negatives have begun to fade or undergo color shift.
